New Delhi, March 10: Art of Living
founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said Thursday he does not mind going to jail if
the court wants him. Asked during an interview on a television channel whether
he would go to jail after refusing to pay the fine for the three-day
International Festival of Culture proposed to take place in flood plains Yamuna
here, Ravi Shankar said : "Yes, I will do it".
Guruji also said he would not pay
the fine of Rs.5 Crore buffeted by the National Green Tribunal.
Green court on Wednesday okayed
the World Culture Festival, organized by the Art of Living Foundation, provided
they pay a fine before Rs.5 crore.
The spiritual guru also said the
structure is made for the event was temporary and will be dismantled after the
event.
"The structure created for
the event is temporary and will be dismantled after the event. We wanted to
raise awareness of the Yamuna through this event," Shankar said.
