Hyderabad: The TS government
sanctioned Rs 100 cr to Brahmin welfare in the Budget for 2016-17.
CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been
stating on every important occasion that the government would take proactive
measures for the welfare of Brahmins. He has already announced the construction
of "Brahmin Bhavan 'in Hyderabad.
In the GHMC elections, Brahmin
associations supported the TRS and participated in the poll campaign in
divisions where the community has considerable presence.
The CM has shown a positive
attitude towards the community forward caste, of which some members are
economically poor.
During the Maha Chandi Yagam, the
CM had announced plans for the community welfare, as well as inclusion in 2BHK
housing plan.
Plans for the Corporation and
welfare fund Welfare Brahmin included in the agenda of the recent cabinet
meeting. However, the matter was not discussed. The sources said the cabinet
meeting Sunday ahead of the budget, the issue will be discussed. "Finance
Minister will give Rs 100 crore for the Corporation in his budget speech on
Monday," the sources said.
The AP government has already
established a Brahmin Corporation and sanctioned Rs 50 crore in its budget.
Telangana leader Gangu Bhanumurthi Archakas Association told that the
government's decision was welcome.
"In the end, the government
seems to have accept our problems” he said.
