New Delhi: In the first
initiative of this kind of green development, two villages in Andhra,
Toorputallu and Pedhamyanavanilanka completely electrified with solar energy
from this year.
"These are the first two
people in the country to run 100 percent of solar energy," said Minister of Trade and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman, who has adopted two peoples under the
Sansad Aadarsh Gram Yojna (SAGY).

purchased by Andhra Pradesh Discom APEPDCL.
"Pedhamyanavanilanka and
Toorputallu (Andhra). Serving PM @ Sri Narendra Modi called for the use of
solar energy," Sitharaman tweeted.
Under the proposal, the district
administration has allocated the necessary land and APEPDCL has consented to
buy energy to the developer. The solar plant will be completed in August 2016.
The plant could also generate significant revenue for the people, 60 paise per
unit.
The SAGY was launched by Prime
Minister Narendra Modi. It is an ambitious development project villages in
which each Member of Parliament shall be responsible for developing the
physical and institutional infrastructure in three villages in 2019.
