While Apple remains an advanced
position in creating a more realistic sense of touch screens on their mobile
devices with 3D Touch technology - most recently seen on the iPhone 6S, Android
smartphones may not be too far. In 2016 Google Nexus smartphone, touch
technology could not so little more than a common feature.
According to the Times of India,
HTC, which manufactures the next Nexus phone will use a 3D touch technology as
pressure sensitive in the Google smartphone screen. It is possible that Google
could look at making the function of a standard for Android. The report adds
that Chinese brands of smartphones like Xiaomi, Meizu, Oppo and Vivo are also
working on devices with this technology. More recently unveiled Gionee Elife S8
your phone that features 3D feature touch too.
The lack of support from
application developers has so far hindered the proliferation of technology for
Android devices. With Google boarding, notes the Times of India report,
developers are likely to integrate support for the feature in their most
popular applications and do on Android.
3D Touch allows users to interact
more intuitively with their devices through a pressure sensitive screen that
mimics the feel and response of real buttons. Eventually, the force sensing
technology also promises new or improved applications from more realistic games
and virtual reality for the addition of temperature, texture and sound to our
screens too.
