New Delhi: The first three women
combat pilots in India have been warned by the IAF to abstain from motherhood
for the next four years so as not to adversely affect the process of lifelong
learning. However, IAF sources clarified that the notice is not legally binding
and is to ensure that their training is not affected.
The three women pilots will be
launched in the flow of combat on 18 June this year after the successful
completion of the initial training. Thereafter, if they return to the advanced
training of one year and enter into a cockpit combat in June 2017.
"continuous training is needed for a minimum of five years for fighter
pilots, men or women to become alert. all three women are about to complete a
year of training ", they said the sources, adding that pregnancy means that
the entire training program is disturbed.
"It is not only the cost but
also the time is affected. Young fighter pilots are advised not even think
about marriage until a certain age," he said. Bhawana Kanth, Mohana and
Avani Singh Chaturvedi are students who qualified for the current battle after
women opened in October 2015.
It should be noted that they will
go to Bidar in Karnataka in June 2016 to phase-III training for a year in Hawk
advanced jet trainers before they get to fly supersonic fighter jets.
