Combined AP rule downed net irrigated area in Telangana, KCR said during an audiovisual presentation first of its kind in the floor of the Assembly.
Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday emphatically told the State Assembly that the redesign of irrigation projects had become inevitable in the context of disputes between States.

environmental tributaries and wildlife have forced us to take a fresh look at ongoing
irrigation projects and go for re-engineering "Mr. Rao said during an
audiovisual presentation on the floor of the Assembly.
Chandrasekhar Rao told how the
flow of water in rivers, tributaries, streams and main was being obstructed by
coastal States upstream and what the way out to support projects existing
irrigation and for ongoing projects and new feasible.
In his presentation of two hours
and fifty minutes with most members of the Legislative Council watching from
the Speaker’s gallery, the Chief Minister also explained the evolution of the minor
irrigation system during the government of Kakatiyas in the 11th century AD and
development of medium and major irrigation projects during the dynasties Qutb
Shahi and Asaf Jahi in Telangana and how minor irrigation systems were
destroyed in the rule AP combined.
In addition, the combined AP government
projects designed in Telangana with an intention that remained incomplete for
decades together by entangling in interstate disputes and describes how
environmental issues. "Their objective is clear that projects here have
been incomplete and water flowed down without any obstacle. The result is
visible to everyone now with the surface of net irrigation in Telangana under
lower, medium and large sources down more than 20 lakh acres at the time of the
merger in 1956 to 19 lakh acres in 2014 till bifurcation "he said.
"Whatever happens, our
government will complete all irrigation projects in the next five years towards
the goal of the potential creation of irrigation of one of acres crore. All
ongoing projects and main components of the new projects will be completed over
the next three years. Those are in the final stages of completion will be ready
in 2017 kharif, "Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao said adding that more Rs.5,000
crore would be allocated to irrigation from next year over 25,000 crore
intended for timely completion.
