World T20 Final : England vs West Indies
Both teams have sought fresh with a strong mentality.
Kolkata: A new look England and a
resurgence of the West Indies will battle to become the first two-time winner
of the World Twenty20 cricket`s in a clash of big-hitting showdown on Sunday
that promises to rain-sixes.
A year after leaving the World
Cup 50-over with egg on his face, Eoin Morgan`s England hopes to complete his
redemption by outmuscling a team of the West Indies, which are in turn a team
reborn.
Inspired by the last change of
play Chris Gayle, Caribbean men are hoping to return home with shorter format`s
jackpot on the same day that their wives are also gunning for glory in
Kolkata`s iconic stadium Eden gardens against Australia in a final before.
Gayle is seeking to become the
first player to break a century of sixes in international T20, which already
broke a record 98 - 11 of them in the current tournament.
England meanwhile hopes to add to
your account 34 sixes in the tournament, more than any other team, underscoring
its transformation into the great entertainers' s game.
Jason Roy, one of the
protagonists of the new image England, promised that his opponents would come
"with all guns blazing" and continue in the same aggressive line that
has confused its former conservative reputation.
"The` s going to be an
amazing experience, but we will play our brand naturally and have been playing
cricket for the last year or so," Roy said after smacking 78 in just 44
balls in the first semi -end against New Zealand.
England won the World T20 2010,
but could not build on that success and were widely ridiculed for his
disappearance in 2015, when they lost to each long side in the World Cup.
Shame came a year after his
departure from the last World T20 in Bangladesh meek, including a defeat to the
Netherlands.
However, experts have been
showered praise on the team Morgan`s in India, with captain Nasser Hussain
former among those won by "an that`s team t fear anyone" .The heaped
criticism in England would have sounded familiar to a team of the West Indies,
which has had to put up with stones of the stars of its heyday in the 1980s
when the likes of Viv Richards and Malcolm Marshall ruled the world.
But while the test team is a
shadow of its former self, limited the west side off Indies` has been a
formidable unit for some time and won the 2012 World T20 in Sri Lanka.
Gayle, derided by a clumsy
attempt to link with a television reporter in Australia in January, the most
dangerous man has been for a long time.
But the 36-year-old, who could be
playing in his last major tournament, has failed to score a decent score in
their last two innings after establishing principles lighted competition
without losing a century against England.
Not recognized as Lendl Simmons,
Jonathan Charles and Andre Russell once sluggers have come to the party with spin
bowlers India `s the last to be carried by the park in jueves` second
semifinal.
"England will certainly be
aware that it is certainly not a demonstration of a person in this team,"
Simmons said later.
After their defeat against the
Windies principles, England gave themselves an injection of confidence by
pursuing an important goal record 230 against South Africa in their next match.
And after sometimes nervy
victories against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka holders, England stopped the
previously unbeaten New Zealand giant in its tracks in New Delhi.
Joe Root, who has scored 195 runs
in five matches, has been the choice of their hitters.
But England have also relied
heavily on road Ben Stokes whose bowling almost perfect death, have passed the
line of ties of contraction.
